Sapphire Middleton: I was quite nervous about coming here as I had heard from friends a few years ago that it isn't a very safe place for women, but I came here for Emo Night and not only did I feel safe the entire time but the vibes were absolutely IMMACULATE! No creepy guys, just lots of cool people having a great time! The staff inside were quite friendly too and I could see what looked like security constantly looking around and keeping an eye on things!
John Gray: It's awesome that Ding-dong is in Auckland for the rock and metal folks. It's a fairly small venue with a great bar downstairs with a dj or a solo act playing and a stage and bar upstairs for bands. The staff are friendly and helpful and the prices were great, especially happy hour and house lager. Nice one Ding-dong for that.If there room for improvement, the a/c upstairs is below par on a hot evening. Wear light clothing.Now call me a audio purist, but imo the PA is only average for bands and for the dj downstairs. While it's OK for most is far from the best I've heard. It would be awesome to be blown away not just by the bands but the fantastic sound system and I'm not referring to how loud the music is but it's clarity.Overall still a great place to hang out.
Jo Faulkner: Awesome hidden away bar. Great music. Would like to hear a bit more classic rock & less heavy rock. Otherwise, great atmosphere, fun bar & great DJs.We've been a few times when visiting Auckland.More recently to Bowie night on Saturday. We were under the impression that Bowie music would be played until 4am by 2 different DJs. When the first Dj finished around 11.30 the Bowie music pretty much stopped & the good dancing vibe stopped also. Up until then it was a great night. We'll be back next Auckland visit.

M S: It's a nice place to catch up with friends after work. Had beers with a yummy platter "Kingdlander" for $40. I liked the pork ribs. It was so juicy and tender with bbq sauce. The size was good enough for 2 people. They have a special daily menu, too. Today is Wednesday, a special day for Steak Egg and chips for $25. The waiter was nice. He kept checking if everything was good and offering us another drink. I liked the vibe when the cafe wasn't too busy, the music was nice and not too loud, good food and drink with open air 😁

The guests loved the venue and the drinks, which was the icing on the cake. A big thanks to the staff who were very helpful. We are very grateful to you guys as we couldn’t have asked for more to make my 21st birthday party a more memorable one!

Cat HK: Ordered Guinness on tap and sat outside people watch.Scary incident when a guy walked in, talking nonsense and acted weird. Bartender called police and it took some time for the man to finally reluctantly leave.I was uncomfortable when the matter unfolded but admired how calm and stern the staff was. She handled the situation professionally.Other than this crazy episode, The Fiddler was a cool place to have drinks and hang out. There's even a second floor open air area, perfect for a good weather day.Will recommend.

Augustine Tea: I was absolutely astonished by the mince and cheese pie at this place after visiting with colleagues a couple of times. The pie they bake is truly the best in town. The prices are incredibly reasonable given the high quality, generous portions, and delicious taste. I highly suggest this spot to any tourists seeking a laid-back and affordable place with good beer, excellent customer service and a very friendly atmosphere.
