Douglas Santos, also known as a respected Sensei in the jiu-jitsu level of mastery, lives and breathe Jiu-Jitsu every day, training 6 days a week and competes at a high-level, world recognised competition. Sensei has multiple Oceania titles - run up and multiple double Gold on Oceania, under his belt. He has always aimed for major achievements that bring bigger challenges and achievements to the team. Being an active competitor while nurturing and inspiring a new generation of competitors and practitioners, sensei believes the best way to teach is by leading and providing a great example to others.

Our School has a very friendly and family orientated environment. There are many father and son/daughter, couples, siblings and friends that train together on the same mat. We are all part of a chosen family here that we cherish, care and support each other towards our goals.

We have a strong competition team that won World's and Oceania titles, but our focus is not on competition. The values and principles we carry, and how we approach learning to focus more on navigating and overcoming life struggles. This has been sensei's life reflection throughout his Jiu-Jitsu pathway and career.

As a pioneer and the pushing force of this art form in Aotearoa, Sensei Douglas has been in New Zealand for 21 years. There are ups and downs along the pathway, difficult and complex moments that he had to overcome but he never gives up.

Welcome to Auckland BJJ, the premier Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu club located in the vibrant suburb of Onehunga, Auckland, New Zealand. Our club is led by renowned IBJJF Black belts (3rd degree) Stuart Mitchell and Serge Morel, who bring a wealth of knowledge, experience and passion to the mat.

We offer a wide range of classes for adults and teenagers, priced at $40 per week, held on Mondays to Fridays from 6:00-8:00pm. We also have an open mat on Saturday mornings from 10-12 am, which is a great opportunity to practice what you've learned and receive feedback from our instructors.
