1.1. In these terms and conditions, 'you' means the rider (or the parent, guardian or caregiver where relevant), and 'we', 'us' or 'our' means Equessence Riding Centre.

1.2. These terms and conditions apply to Equessence Riding School term lessons and holiday programmes. By enrolling for lessons you accept these terms and conditions.

2.1. Lessons are paid direct via internet banking - per term in advance, non-refundable.

2.2. Your enrolment will continue to roll over each term unless you contact us to cancel at least two weeks prior to the next term commencing.

2.3. Holiday programme exceptions. Paid in full – the lessons for the holiday period are paid for in full at the time of booking.

3.1. If we cancel a riding lesson, you will be offered a make-up lesson within the same term.

3.2. Lessons will not run on public holidays unless by prior arrangement.

3.3. Riders get one make up lesson per term if >24hrs notice of cancellation is given

Our newly built-for-purpose Arena provides a consistent riding experience everytime with flood lights for dusk and evening lessons.

We run a holiday programme during the school holidays and provide riding classes on those days. The days we operate during holiday times are Thursday, Friday & Saturday for both

The ladies ride consists of having an instructed lesson in our arena using our horses. If this sounds like you, please contact and talk with us. You will ride in a group with 8 ladies max.

It is a time to enjoy your riding, build on your current skill level and enjoy great

Professional Arena with night lighting for lessons with dressage and jumping.

We provide instruction to start jumping and improve your advanced jumping, in both the arena and paddock.

You are able to gain experience with horse management and come along and help to enjoy horses and the outdoors more.

4worldlovers: Greenhithe RDA is a community based voluntary staffed organisation providing opportunities for anyone with a disability to enjoy a safe, healthy, stimulating therapeutic horse riding and/or horse handling activities.

Our Group caters for people who live in the North Shore and Rodney areas. For over 35 years of operation, Greenhithe RDA Inc has made a difference to many children and adults in the community.

We provide interaction with horses to develop increased ability, independence and self worth for children and adults who have physical intellectual, emotional or social challenges.


A horse’s three-dimensional movement (side-to-side, up and down, forward and backward) stimulate and aid physical improvement.


The horse is the perfect partner to aid self worth, confidence and social interaction.


Therapeutic riding provides exercise and can be a pathway to competitive sport.


Once referred to us, potential riders follow a defined process, including provision of their medical background, and the agreement of individual riding goals.


We welcome and assist people of all ages. A person may be referred to us in a number of ways, including word of mouth or referral from a health, recreational or teaching professional. Over 80 per cent of our riders are children and teenagers. 37 per cent have a physical or intellectual disability while just over a quarter are on the autistic spectrum. Many of our riders live with more than one disability.


Riding is of benefit to children and adults with a wide range of special needs, including but not limited to: Autistic Spectrum Disorders, Cerebral Palsy, Cystic Fibrosis, CVA (stroke), Down Syndrome, Intellectual Disability, Learning Disability, Hearing and Visual Impairments, Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy, Spina Bifida and Spinal Cord Injury (Para/Quadriplegia).
