Jom C: Great place to camp within Auckland, beautiful location, black beaches, good nature trails and good toilet facilities. Make sure you book the campsite in advance through Auckland’s Council Website.

Marius H.: . The owners are super friendly and helped us fixing our car after a breakdown. Highly recommended!

Daphné Remaud: Amazing place and the owner is so Nice to us!!

Keith Laurie: So close to the city, yet feels like a world away and a step back in time. Great facilities and wonderful location.

Dee Saunders: Comfy beds, well equipped kitchen and lots of space inside and out. Great place to stay, only drawback the last 7ks getting there.

nikhil borwankar: Underrated. Most helpful director of the facility. Excellent campgrounds and toilets. Scenic hikes and intriguing caves around the area.

Phoebe B: We had a lovely stay at this campsite, the owner is lovely, very peaceful scenic spot and clean/nice compostable toilets and cold shower. Easy access to the beach and trails surrounding, very beautiful and relaxing place to spend time😊 Would stay here again!

Mike Hall: Incredibly beautiful scenery. The main house is a wonderful venue. Plenty of amenities and amusements. Facilities are of a high standard.

J Orsborn: but most importantly very clean and the grounds had plenty of taps. The gravel roads are high and narrow at points, with 10+ areas of severe water erosion where a standard car would need to drive carefully. The Park Ranger we came across was very helpful and we're looking forward to trying Whatipu.

Bryan Wiechern-Keoghan: Lovely location, and a Lovely couple running the camp ground and lodge.

Claus Bruckner (Camino): What a nice place! Super quiet, great operators, very nice people, paradise! We had a unique stay. Short walk to the beach,

Trent Rees: Was slaps as, spent new years here had a solid night

Vishal Panchal: Amazing place

Marthe Benquet: I spent 2 days at this campsite, it was great! The grounds are large with trees and tables. The lady at the front desk is incredibly kind and helpful! I would come back with pleasure ☺️

T N: Very nice and clean place. Close to everything - shops, toilets, showers, beach. Great place for kids. All the facilities are well maintained. It is a canp site, not a Glampsite, so dont expect a hotel but a perfect campground place. Washer and drier available. Kitchen also available. Great for kids - playgrounds, plenty of space, ducks to keep them entertained, football and rugby field on site, as well as a basketball court with a concrete pad. Bowling place with yummy food right nearby, too. Kids playgrounds is well maintained and of good size to keep all ages of kids entertained. The staff were very nice and accommodating. We will be back again for sure.P.s. we also saw a Motepork/Ruru owl in the tree above us.

Janis Bowker: Great campground. Good facilities. Close to beach & eating places. Highly recommend

I can’t wait to visit again!

I am using this credit to spend one more night there with a friend. Super close to the beach. Big walk in fridge, big chest freezer, clean facilities.

Tunnel Point Campground: what do users think?

joe veryuncool: and a long drop. Enjoy! 😊

Murray Cameron: We transitted Tunnel Point on our way to Parahaha Valley to check out the new walkways and bridges. These were, by the way, amazing and such an improvement over swamy tracks and river wading!Tunnel Point is a short level walk along the beach from Karekare and continues to be a nice place for a picnic. Read up on the history before you go and imagine digging that Tunnel with pick and shovel. We were not camping this time but if we were would be tempted to walk on another 45 minutes to the awesome Parahaha Camp.

Michael Rust: Absolutely love this place. It's magical. Blackberry bushes everywhere. Never stayed for the night tho

Jared Mortlock: that leads into the cliffs. Head in there and on the right hand side the Hillary Trail. Follow that. Hopefully the pics help some others.

M: Short tunnel walk

Marcel Muller: Great little campsite

Sebastiaan van Gils: . Lovely views!

Vaughn Penn: Tucked away in an isolated spot. Ideal for quick getaway from the hustle n bustle of the city yet close enough to make you want to go. Dont forget repellent.

Johan Roggeveen: Perfect if you want to get away from it all.Hands down favourite campsite in Auckland.

Jeremy P: Birders haunt or a leisured rest stop. A shelteted & protected site, long drop, great views over the wetlands, just 1.7km along the Hillary Trail from the Karekare Reserve beach sign.

Poukaraka Flats Campground: what do users think?

Janet Stark: Excellent Campsite with flush toilets, drinking water and cold showers. Very sheltered camp sites with lots of trees and bird life including some cheeky Pūkeko and Weka

Cat Snodgrass: This is the only campsite on Waiheke but it's a lovely one. Book in advance through Auckland Council website. I came from UK and it was easy to do after emailing the council staff. Its cheap too. The duty staff were friendly but unobtrusive. There were plenty, spacious pitches, with lots of foliage separating everything. Good flushing toilets, unheated showers, free gas grills all over site. Lots of birdlife, watch out for the Pukekos trying to steal your bread!! It's right by the shore, and at high tide we found ourselves swimming in a bath hot sea. It's a mudflats, so there is no speedy drop off. There are picnic benches throughout and on beach so you could sit and watch the 🌅

Denis Burykin: 🔥

Ben Johnston: An idyllic place to camp by the sea

Pamela Christie: Really great spot to camp. Lots of shade, close to the water, flushing toilets and drinking water available. There was also lots of space between everyone, didn't feel on top of others.

Anne Wright: Great set up, but only 1 female toilet working.Nicely layed out sites.

Louis Tumminaro: Closed until October! I stayed anyway and they didn’t question me. Stunning spot.

Waiheke RSA: Great place. Well kept

Rachel Miles: One of the most beautiful places in the world. Lovely.

Liam Huxley: Quiet, nice weather, great facilities and clean. Beach tides were a but weird but still warm and swimmable.

Lesley Erasmus: Only thing missing is a hot shower. Otherwise beautiful.

shiva mithipati: Such a lovely place

Glen L: Well equipped campground with all facilities.

Te Haruhi Bay Campground: what do users think?

Teriwai Weeks: Great large camp sites, beach access and walking tracks.

Dennis Hyde: Was here 17 years ago today. Not much has changed, and I so happy about that.

Fred Manuel: Awesome camp grounds

Brian Baird: Nice little secluded campground on the whangaparoa peninsular.booking is esential plenty of outdoor activities walking and swimming there is the nearby army bay 5mins drive for fishing.this camp is located in a wildlife santuary toilet and amenities block.very quiet surroundings only 40 mins drive from albany.the camp is locked so you will need a 4digit pin code for the gate.

Jasmine Roberts: a large group right next to us and directly in front of the hosts camper were partying late into the night, and one of the men in the group, came to our campsite and urinated directly outside the front of one of our tents. After a 2nd attempt at knocking on the hosts door he contacted the head park ranger, who attended and assisted with the situation. When camping we all go to enjoy our time with our loved ones and the last thing anyone wants is an angry disrespectful host, I do think this needs reviewing and a better system is put in place in regards to noise that suits all parties involved, cause the double standards for different groups are just not on at all. Also, some respect to families camping and their privacy when paying to stay at the site. We hope this is rectified before our next visit to the site as this is what we call our peaceful place and hope to continue this family tradition.Ngā mihi.Jasmine & Whanau.

Ngaire Askew: Love this camp site. Close to the beach and walks. Lovely big trees to shelter from the sun.

Marie Cheeseman: Beautiful spot, super safe beach for swimming although be aware the tide goes out a long way. New toilet/shower block.

john cathcart: Lovely safe camping . Good walking tracks through the farm.

Michelle Ross: Pretty magical place. Large area just off the beach picnic tables clean loos. And amazing wildlife. Birds everywhere and the morning chorus is unreal. Great walks and some good snorkeling spots around the rocks to the left of the cove ,best at mid tide.

Stephen Tan: Beautiful and peaceful beachside setting.

Jocelyn Alexander: Some amazing walks from there. Beautiful surrounds

Jude Fippard: Please respect the Sanctuary and don't bring dogs

Camp.fish.repeat: Awesome campground. Back to basics. Great walks and fishing opportunitys

Nicholas Sandford: Amazing spot to camp so close to Auckland City! Bathrooms are new and clean. I was surprised about the recycling and rubbish facilities. Awesome walks with good views of the surrounding areas. Great clam beach and shallow, too. Lots of things to do!
