Joe Dennehy: I helped Niwa catch some snapper for a study in coromandel. While the boat is not set up specifically for fishing they had, a sea anchor, mussel hook and really knew what they were doing. The customer service was next level. Dave made us wild sheep tacos, later he fried up a gurnard for the team. We achieved our mission and had a great day on the water. A highly reccomend this boat.
Shen C: One of the best freediving/spearing experiences ever. David is an amazing captain who is patient and knowledgeable about the area. Started at Tairua and went to Alderman’s. Vis was out of this world 15-20m despite having swell of 1.5m. Would recommend this to anyone from seasoned spearo to confident spearo. Will be going again next summer for sure!

Matt Peacock: Had an amazing day out with the Freedive Nz crew! I got on touch with David and even though I was a solo diver he slotted me in with a group on the day that suited me. We launched from Tairua to head out to the Aldermans. Four of us on the boat were diving plus David and ET, and their new rig made light work of the trip out to the Aldermans. We spent the entire day exploring the Aldies; David would run over the terrain, fish and tactics for each spot before dropping us where we needed to be. Him and ET stayed in the boat during the dives so we were able to drop our fish back to them, except when ET jumped in to get snaps of our Kingfish.The diving was incredible and we were very well looked after all day. Whether you're a seasoned spearo looking to get offshore or just starting out, these charters are so worth it!

Kelsey Price: Took my father and law out before covid and we came back with 14 snapper! He's still raving about it 3 years later! These guys are great as they use fast, decent boats so you get to the spots quickly, and they can shift to the work-ups easily if need be. The gear was new too. Best fish charter we've been on!
Iain Blakeley: An outstanding charter. Got postponed three times because of Covid and weather, but finally got out last Saturday. 6.30am departure from Westhaven, and back 12pm with a bin full of snapper and one very nice kingfish. Captain Jack knows his stuff alright and got us to the right spots. The day exceeded our expectations and is well worth the money. Can't recommend this operator enough. The Catch fishing gear is brilliantly easy to use, with a very impressive strike rate.

Captain jack is an absolute legend , his knowledge of the water and wildlife and his easy going nature made it a great day out for the group , he went above and beyond to get us a bin full of fish . He put us on the fish, I learnt a lot about different techniques and using the sounder. Also he’s a really honest bloke that cares about other people and doing the right thing on the water. Rhys Brown (Roosterhys): First time on Wave dancer with Captain Jack, very impressed with Jack's knowledge and ability to find the fish. Finished up with a bin full of snapper and topped it off with a 13 pounder too. Catch fishing gear made the task easy first time using these lures, will have to add them to the tackle box in the future.
Mason Kelly: The boys and myself had a minter, Jack the skipper knows his trade like the back of his hand. Had us over the Kingis pretty much all day at a primo spot where it was just our charter boat. Everyone on board landed decent sized keepers. Hooked up to some big donkeys but the bronzies won that battle on the day 😂Cheers, we will be back for more!

Mick Fretty: This was my first time on Wave Dancer and consider myself a beginner because I hadn't fished since my early 20's. Captain Jack was fantastic - very helpful and got me fishing like a veteran in no time. We were treated to an impressive array of wildlife - 2 whales, countless dolphins and beautiful sea birds. The fishing was outstanding, we came home with a full quota of big snapper, which we had fileted while we sat in Swashbucklers having a few beers. It really was a perfect day. Thank you Captain Jack!
Joshua Davis: I've been out on Wave Dancer with Captain Jack about 4 or 5 times now and it has been an enjoyable adventure every time. Always come home with a good feed and great memories. Skipper goes over and above to ensure everyone has a good time. Whether you want to target kingfish on live bait, topwater or jig and snapper on lures or soft baits he will get you to the right spot. He keeps a tidy work space and there is ample room to fish on the Extreme 850 Walk-around vessel powered by TWIN Honda 225hp engines. A very experienced skipper and so knowledgeable whether it's inner gulf or out wide this man knows his stuff. Just remember certain techniques of fishing are seasonal so have realistic goals relative to the season. No two days of fishing are the same but every time I have been on Wave Dancer it has been fantastic. Not to mention the bloody awesome CATCH fishing tackle rods/reels and lures on board that can handle big fish NO SWEAT! I will definitely book again. Thanks heaps Captain Jack 🙌🏽

Dean Everett: Wave Dancer are undeniably the best Fishing Charter in the center of Auckland. We were out today with Capt. Jack and he worked hard to put us where the fish are. He used all tech available, some local knowledge and gut instinct to put us on Snapper, Kingfish the odd Gurnard - but still have time to stop and admire Bryde Whales, dolphins and squadron's of Gannett. Can't recommend Wave Dancer loaded with Catch fishing gear enough - book yourself a memory to share

John A: Fantastic day out on Wavedancer. We took a full day trip targetting kingfish. The boat and gear are excellent. Terry the skipper was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We covered most of the gulf. Departed westhaven early morning, caught livebait off the noises, bottom jigged for snapper in several places mid gulf. We then chased big kingis at channel island , later moving to a reef off Great Barrier finally returning following multiple workups, tired but happy. We struck a low day late march but we still went home with a full bin of snapper.The highlight was a struggle with a magnificent 20kg kingi. We landed it but a bronze whaler had a feed right on the surface as it came up minus its tail and half its guts.All up it was a great day out that we cant wait to repeat. Highly recommended.
